Anyone who gets into writing with a view to making (serious) money is deluded.
We all want the joy of setting our own hours, sitting before some glorious vista in the grips on an early summer; but the reality is far more dank.
The day job pays the bills etc, but writing is your passion… so what do u do? Give one up to chase the dream of the other?
Generally the answer would be no. Monetary security, especially in these days, is a must; so the loser is your writing? Not all the time…
There’s a reason novelists can pop out a book (or more) a year… they earn a living from their books, they are well known or have a cult following. When u start, u wont have either. Time management will see u through.
Find any moment u can to write, and if it takes 10 years (like my first book did) then so be it.
If the writing is worth the reading, it has to be worth the effort
